Vectical Calcitriol Ointment – a natural metabolite of vitamin D3. Causes inhibition of proliferation of keratinocytes and normalizes differentiation. Also acts on the immune processes in the skin: inhibits the proliferation of T lymphocytes and normalizes the production of various inflammatory factors.
Pharmacokinetics Vectical Ointment
Absorption of external use – 10%. Calcitriol and its metabolites found in plasma in unchanged form. The action of metabolites on Ca2 + exchange is negligible. The concentration of circulating exogenous calcitriol below the detection level – 2 pg / ml.

Dosage Vectical Ointment
Topically. Adults and children over 12 years of ointment applied thinly to the affected skin (on clean and dry skin), 2 times a day (morning and evening).
The maximum daily dose – 30 g.
Daily application of the ointment should be no more than 35% of the surface of the skin.
The average duration of treatment – 6 weeks, if necessary, possible long-term treatment, and the use of the drug as maintenance therapy.
Contraindications Vectical Ointment
Hypersensitivity, hepatic / renal failure, hypercalcemia, or metabolic Sa2 +, concomitant systemic (maintenance) therapy of calcium homeostasis, pregnancy, lactation.

Overdose Vectical Ointment
Symptoms of hypervitaminosis of vitamin D (available with the therapeutic dose, depending on individual sensitivity to the drug): early (due to hypercalcemia) – constipation or diarrhea, dry oral mucosa, headache, thirst, pollakiuria, nocturia, polyuria, anorexia, metallic taste mouth, nausea, vomiting, unusual tiredness, fatigue, hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, later – bone pain, clouding of urine (urinary appearance of hyaline cylinders, proteinuria, leukocyturia), increased blood pressure, itching, photosensitivity of the eyes, conjunctival hyperemia, arrhythmia, drowsiness, myalgia, nausea, vomiting, pancreatitis, gastralgia, weight loss, rarely – mental changes (up to the development of psychosis) and mood.
Symptoms of chronic intoxication with vitamin D (if taken for several weeks or months to adults in doses of 20-60 thousand IU / day, children – 2-4 thousand IU / day): calcification of soft tissues, kidneys, lungs, blood vessels, hypertension, renal and cardiovascular failure or death (these effects are most often associated with hypercalcemia, hyperphosphatemia accession), dysplasia in children.
Cautions Vectical Ointment
After applying the ointment should wash their hands.
The application of the person increases the risk of skin irritation.
If you accidentally hit the ointment to the mucous membrane the eyes, mouth or nose should be thoroughly washed with warm water.

High doses of vitamin D, thiazide diuretics increase the risk of hyperkalemia.
